This memo is in response to an RFAI dated July 28, 2026. The commission is requesting additional information on our procedures when donors do not provide us with their employer and occupation. We have a robust procedure to collect that information that complies with the “best efforts” to obtain, maintain, and report as detailed in the FEC law.
To satisfy the “best efforts” standard to collect the employer and occupation, the following is the wording (in the same font size type as the solicitation) that is used on our digital contribution landing page and on the remit for our mail program:
Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation and name of employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year.
For those donors that do not provide us with adequate information we perform the following procedures:
•	Within 30 days we send a note to the donor requesting the missing information which includes a thank you note but no solicitation. The content of the note includes the verbiage in the italics above. This communication is delivered via the same method that they used to make the contribution, email, text, or mail.
•	The Committee maintains a record of all the follow up communications and records that new information in the donor database.
